The Glenbrook Sanitary District maintains the sanitary sewer lines and provides for the transport of potable water for consumption to the residents of the Glenbrook Countryside Subdivision.

The actual treatment of sanitary sewer service is being provided by the Sanitary District of Chicago, the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago (MWRD).  They are a special-purpose district responsible for treating wastewater and providing stormwater management for residents and businesses in District’s service area.  MWRD encompasses 882.1 square miles and includes Chicago and 128 suburban communities throughout Cook County.

In addition to providing the infrastructure for sanitary service, the District also purchases potable water for consumption.  The water that you drink is Lake Michigan Water, which is provided by the City of Highland Park.
